Last Light

A bundle of pressure gauges left at the Memory Well rearranged itself into a symbol nobody founded this colony to explain.

A garrison built on obedience now doubling as a listening post — where hardened dock defenses and clipped chains of command coexist with a Well that keeps leaving cryptic notes for whoever's paying attention.

The council finished the Analysis Facility this week, giving Last Light its long-promised Archive of Voices. Dr. Ilyana Voss and the science team now have somewhere official to run the numbers on whatever's been rearranging itself near the Memory Well. Construction crews are already fielding requests to expand it twice over.

The story so far

founding — June

Last Light rose under a single decisive hand — no committees, no debate, just a banner planted and a colony told to fall in line behind it.

first_visitor — July 4

A visiting commander crashed the fringe festival, sniffed out an illicit still nobody admitted to running, and sailed off with the colony's best contraband before the docks could close on her.

chapter — July 9

While the founders were elsewhere, someone — or something — rearranged the pressure gauges left as an offering at the Memory Well into a symbol no one on the roster could place.

now — This week

Rather than let the symbol keep them up at night, the council poured resources into an Analysis Facility — an Archive of Voices built specifically to interrogate the Well's little riddles.
